SatDarshan was founded and established by R. Ananda Kumar in 2006, with the objective of setting up a yoga and meditation center aligned with the principles of alternative communal living.

Ananda began with growing and fondly fostering a lush micro forest around the SatDarshan retreat center. This forest was allowed to grow with its own initiative, with little intervention, and following the fundamentals of permaculture. This dense and abundant micro forest continues to be the magnet that attracts spiritual seekers, artists, musicians, and lovers of nature from around the world to SatDarshan.

As SatDarshan began to develop, visitors felt the center’s natural ambience to be very conducive to learning, assimilating, and absorbing knowledge. Ananda was therefore encouraged by fellow well-wishers to create the space and tools to hold workshops for learning at the center. Thus, SatDarshan is now actively used by various groups to conduct workshops and learning activities across subjects as diverse as creative art, literature, ecology, music, meditation, yoga, and healing.

SatDarshan has also established a therapy center to provide and complete the full circle of healing towards body, mind, and soul.

Inspite of the many symbiotic activities that go on throughout the year, the main objective of the center continues to be to learn more about oneself with the use of mother nature’s freely available teaching aids, available in abundance around SatDarshan.
